I don't know if this has been metioned but Rhino is suppose to release on DVD the Fillmore movie in April.
I only saw it once, at a midnight movie about twenty-five years ago. The only thing I remember, is that they used the split screen like they did in the Woodstock movie. the The album was good so it should be interesting.

Heres a great clip from the Fillmore movie! (Additional music by the Dead from 7/2/71, Goin Down The Road.) Check Bill Graham out:

And so there was a bootleg album released a few months after this Grateful Dead concert. I found this double LP in an independent record store. It even had the "dedicated to Owsley" intro into Cryptical, which is missing from every decent tape that circulates.

It isn't hard to get decent source material; when the entire run was heard on the famous KSAN 94.9 FM in San Francisco...

I believe that the person Graham is speaking to on the phone was with Santana, who were concerned about an FM broadcast of their set at Fillmore West's closing show. Their new album at the time (which turned out to be Santana III) had not yet been released. They had concerns that the radio broadcast would be bootlegged, and hurt album sales. It WAS bootlegged, but it didn't ruin the band by any means. Pretty good album too, BTW. The Deluxe Edition of Santana III released a few years ago includes music recorded at those final Fillmore West shows.
